We propose to determine if location of care, a potentially modifiable factor, affects survival outcomes and attenuates the association of any sociodemographic factors on survival in pediatric and AYA patients with NRSTS. This study will provide initial data to determine which patients benefit most from care at specialized cancer centers. It will provide a strong framework for studying disparities in other cancers in the pediatric and AYA population, specifically those cancers requiring complex multi_modality care (e.g., non-Hodgkin lymphoma, acute myeloid leukemia). We will follow the same model described above and adapt it for the specific cancer type being investigated. With this funding we will be able to conduct this study and begin developing the Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Outcomes Program at the University of California, Davis.
