Our Story
Founded in 1998, Hyundai Hope on Wheels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer through research funding and public awareness. Supported by Hyundai Motor America, over 850 dealers, and customers, the organization donates a portion of every new vehicle sale to pediatric cancer research. By 2025, donations will exceed $277 million.
Every 36 minutes, a child in the U.S. is diagnosed with cancer
No child should ever have to experience cancer. That is why Hyundai Hope on Wheels has been committed to driving hope in hospitals, homes, and communities since 1998. Our research grants are helping scientific pioneers to push the boundaries of medicine and provide kids with treatments that were unthinkable 5 or 10 years ago. As a result, over 85% of children are surviving this disease. Despite federal funding cuts, Hyundai Hope on Wheels continues to drive progress so that more kids can play sports, make friends, graduate from high school, and lead a cancer-free future.
Our impact is visible in every handprint.
Each year Hyundai Hope on Wheels visits children’s hospitals across the U.S. to donate funds and raise awareness. During the event, we host our signature “Handprint Ceremony” which captures each child’s handprint in paint. These handprints are placed on Hyundai cars that travel across the country to build colorful awareness of the program.
