Hope on Wheels January 2017

Happy New Year!

Before I look to the year ahead and the exciting work that we will accomplish, I must first reflect on 2016. At Hyundai, we are so grateful for all of
the doctors, researchers, nurses, hospital staff and Hyundai dealers and executives for their work in supporting our mission and goals in 2016.

Thank you to everyone who added their handprint to the fight against pediatric cancer in 2016 and I welcome you to our cause as we enter our 19th year.
Most importantly, I want to thank the brave child cancer fighters and their families and loved ones. We are in this fight for each and every one of you.

In 2017, we will take strides to meet our goal of $200 million in donations by the year 2020.  Through our grant program, which includes the Hyundai Scholar/Young
Investigator and Impact grants, as well as our newest grant addition, the Quantum Award, we will award nearly $10 million to researchers and organizations that work every day to eradicate childhood cancer.

The start of this New Year gives me hope that 2017 will be even more extraordinary than 2016 for Hyundai Hope On Wheels. For starters, we’re sending two
very joyful kids for Texas Children’s to Super Bowl LI this weekend! We will have many more exciting initiatives, events and activities to share with you all this year, and we’ll keep you updated along the way.

Thank you again for your commitment and devotion to Hope On Wheels and I look forward to working with you in 2017.

All my best,

Scott Stark

Chairman, Hyundai Hope On Wheels

President, South Point Automotive

Hands of Hope Super Bowl Giveaway

The Super Bowl is a quintessential American pastime, and this upcoming weekend, Hope On Wheels is sending two lucky patients from Texas Children’s to the big game. Eden and Cristian will be taking over our social media and will be sharing their day,
LIVE from NRG Stadium in Houston as they watch Super Bowl LI.

Eden Green is a sweet, fun and determined 11 year old who learned in June 2015 that the tumor in her right tibia bone was cancerous. The biopsy determined that Eden’s cancer was rare – so rare that it doesn’t even have a name. Eden was treated by her team at Texas Children’s and
as of today, Eden is cancer free!

Cristian Beasley is an outgoing and fun 16 year old who loves football, especially the Texans. Cristian was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in November 2012. After three and a half years of treatment, Cristian rang the end-of-treatment bell in March 2016! This year,
Cristian will be able to play on his school football team, something he hasn’t been able to do after missing 3 years of school.

Watch Cristian’s big reveal here thanks to KHOU News, as he took part in the biggest surprise of his young life.

Both Cristian and Eden will be attending the game with their dads and will be given GoPros to capture the excitement of the day.
Make sure you’re following us on social media on February 5th as the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons in Houston, Texas!
