Our daughter Kendall was 7 when she was diagnosed with CML. Less than a year later we found out the cancer was coming back. The doctors discovered she had what was called the M LL rearrangement and she would need a bone marrow transplant. She had her transplant September 24, 2008. She did well for a year and then we discovered the cancer was back again. She fought extremely hard against this cancer but in the end it was too much for her little body. She was able to spend her remaining days at home with her family. We need to find a cure for pediatric cancer’s. Losing our daughter has been the hardest thing we’ve had to experience. Watching what cancer does to a family is horrible. These children deserve a childhood of fun and playing and not worrying about doctors appointment and needles and medicines.
